Job Requirements
BSME with minimum one year applied engineering
experience in industrial/factory automation environment. Working
knowledge of mechanical motion control components and their
applications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
to effectively interface with Cross associates, customers and
suppliers. Excellent PC skills including knowledge of common

Job
Description Summary
Provides
technical telephone support to the Cross Automation
sales staff and customers in pre-sales through
post-sales capacity. Interpret and translate
customer needs for design, application, and service
information. Answer product and application related
questions to assist with proper product selection.
Develop application knowledge and expertise on CA
product offering through internal and supplier
training, customer training, technical manuals, and
telephone support.
Principal Responsibilities
A.
Provide first level telephone technical support to
customers and company sales staff for product and
application related questions utilizing supplier
information and resources to ensure proper product
selection.
B. Develop and
maintain technical competence and application skills for
mechanical motion control products including sizing, selection
and required programming.
C. Assist with
the Demo process (build, dispatch, maintain) for use by other
technical support staff, outside sales, and customers.
D. Assist sales
associates with preparation of accurate bills of materials and
quotations for mechanical motion products, systems, and
technical services.
E. Develop and
conduct product training/information sessions for company
associates.

Job Requirements
Superior
knowledge and practice of advanced selling skills,
strong technical comprehension of automation control

Job
Description Summary
The Field
Application Engineer (FAE) will function as a key technical
support resource for sales people and customers in the Region.
The FAE’s primary responsibility will be providing both
telephone and on-site technical support for Cross Automation
products and technologies. This will include capturing
application data, developing bills of materials and quotations,
conducting product demonstrations, providing training and
performing programming, start-up assistance, troubleshooting,
and other billable services as required. The FAE will also
assist with lunch-and-learns, technology fairs, product
training, technology seminars and other sales and marketing
initiatives in the Region. Must be willing to travel 50% of the
time.
Principal Responsibilities
A. Engage in
field sales activities as a technical resource for motion
control and other industrial automation products. Work with the
field sales force in identifying opportunities by visiting
customer sites and analyzing customer needs. Assist the sales
force in closing orders by providing application specific
solutions. Provide support to the outside staff through
development of custom demonstrations, conducting training
seminars as lunch and learns, managing and scheduling road shows
to promote specific products or technologies, and assist in
planning and implementing Tech Fairs.
B. Demonstrate a broad spectrum of technology expertise by
maintaining a high level of competence and application knowledge
of CA key product lines.
C. Assist the sales staff in identifying billable service
opportunities that fit the profile of the type of services CA
will support. Personally provide programming, commissioning,
start-up, training, and other technical services as required.
D. Develop technical notes, application notes, and
product/technology presentations to provide sales the tools to
identify and close opportunities.
E. Interface on a regular basis with key and target accounts in
the Region as the CA field technical support specialist.
F. Interface on a regular basis with key suppliers as the
Regional technical support specialist and participate in
supplier training programs as required. G. Participate in
Regional quarterly sales meetings and other CA division meetings
as required. |
