Description
A packaging company was searching for a
way to detect fill level in bottles that were different colors,
shapes and sizes. The area accessible to see the liquid is less than
12mm diameter.
Objective
To replace the capactive sensor that needed to touch the bottle in
order to determine fill level. The sensor would need the ability to
look through an opening of less than 12mm and be able to reflect
from the surface of the liquid.
Solution
The Balluff BOS-26K-PA-1IE-S4-C is a diffuse reflective
photoelectric with background suppression and infrared emission. The
small beam diameter of this sensor allowed the customer to look
through the small opening in the bottle and precisely determine
correct level of fluid by reflecting off the surface of the liquid.
