General Information Objectives

Upon course completion the student will be able to:

  • Configure serial Ethernet and Controller Link communications
  • Work with graphical objects (bitmaps).
  • Design screens using touch switches and lamps, analog meters, bar graphs, and text messaging functions
  • Develop basic alarm screens
  • Assign PLC addresses to screen objects
  • Download screen data to the product over Ethernet and serial links
  • Understand how to address multiple PLC’s from the same HMI
Audience Course Overview
The NS-Series course is designed to give the student an understanding of how to create, update, and support the operator interface features that are built into the product. The training is recommended for engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.

Introduction to Omron’s Industrial Operator Interface using NS-Series HMI’s. This course provides the necessary skills to correctly interface and program the HMI features of the NS series HMI using the Microsoft Windows™ based NS Designer software package.
Prerequisites  
The Intro PLC Course or equivalent Omron PLC experience is required. Omron PLC Special I/O and Networks Course or working knowledge of Omron’s FIN’s networking protocol is strongly recommended. Basic understanding of Ethernet networking is recommended. Working knowledge of Microsoft® Windows®     and navigation is required.
