Numatics is pleased to announce the availability of PROFINET communication module for the G3 Electronics platform. PROFINET is the innovative open standard for Industrial Ethernet and complies with IEC 61158 and IEC 61784 standards. PROFINET products are certified by the Profibus Trade Organization (PTO in North America) or Profibus User Organization (PNO in Europe), guaranteeing worldwide compatibility.

Numatics has integrated this technology into the G3 platform for the Generation 2000 valve manifold series which combines the functionality of a modular pneumatic valve manifold system with integrated I/O and various distribution capabilities. The G3 PROFINET communication module supports PROFINET IO Real Time (RT) communication protocol and controls various combinations of digital and analog I/O with up to 1200 outputs and 1200 inputs, including 32 valve coils per manifold. Additional features of the G3 PROFINET communication module include an integrated web server with diagnostics and logging capabilities, integrated 2 port switch for line topology, fail-safe device settings and Fast Start Up compatibility (FSU).

As with all G3 modules, a graphic display is integrated within each module. The graphic display is used for displaying and/or setting the Station Address, Station Name, Fault/Idle Actions and many other system settings, as well as, displaying text based point-of-use diagnostics.

The Numatics DPM Sales Tool has been updated to include the G3 PROFINET Communication Module.
