Description
Automated pick and place conveyor system that can have seven
different thickness shapes. The material is steel with the same
diameter on the bottom of each unit. There are twelve stations on
the machine for location automation.Objective
The conveyor must stop at two pre-determined conveyor locations
and verify part presence.
Location # 1 - part must be located and machined
Location # 2 - Part must be detected for proper robot pick-up and
unload section.
Solution
Use of the right angle split beam fiber optic cable mounted
across the conveyor with 100mm between cable ends to detect 40mm
diameter. Parts in location #1 and #2 are connected to N/O diffuse
type opto switch that is mounted down and out of conveyor area.
