General Information Goals

Course Length: 2 Days

Upon course completion the student will be capable of:

  • Navigating the C3 Servo Manager
  • Day 1: Commissioning the Compax3 drive (I10 T10)
  • Day 2: Commissioning the Compax3 drive with integrated indexer (I11 T11 and I12 T11).
  • Programming the Compax3 for a variety of motion applications including relative and absolute moves, homing and registration.
  • Troubleshooting the systems with the available diagnostic codes and messages.
Audience Topics
This course is for users of Parker's Compax3 drive/controller.  It is appropriate for programmers, maintenance technicians, and engineers.

Day 1

  • Overview of the Compax3 servo system

  • Hardware features of the Compax3

  • C3 Servo Manager programming environment

  • Creating motor configuration files for non-Parker motors

  • Proper drive configuration and setup

  • Upload and download of drive configuration files

  • Tuning

Day 2

  • Programming different motion profiles [absolute, relative, gearing, camming]

  • Serial communications

  • Using the Optimization screen for troubleshooting and diagnostics

Prerequisites Course Overview
A laptop computer with Compax3 software package loaded.  Basic programming skills.

This course is designed to give the student a basic understanding of the hardware and software of the Compax3 system.  Hardware will be provided for the many hands-on exercises.
